  .. first, you never get car you booked through the internet page... they don't simply keep them.. they always refer to the word „or similar”, usually less expensive Korean car similar in size .. don't expect Ford or VW ...

  I wish I had read these reviews before hiring. I have had an awful experience that left me shaken. Greeted by an abrupt woman. But felt this could just be down to a language barrier. Was asked to sign for a credit transaction that I couldn't see what I was signing for or how much. When I pointed this out she said sign it and then she would show me. I was then asked to sign to say that the car only had one area of damage BEFORE SEEING IT. I said I needed to see it first and was told I could not have the car unless I signed now and she would come out and go over the car with me. Once outside she shortly got angry with me pointing out multiple areas of damage that hadn't been marked and stopped me taking photos telling me she was too busy. I stopped taking photos but still she wouldn't let me go through the damage. She walked off and wouldn't stay. When I put my hand on her arm and said you need to go through this with me she told me not to touch her and refused to stay. I was never shown the car or details of diesel or petrol. I am a mother who had one of my children with me. It was an awful experience and I have yet to have to return the car so not looking forward to this after reading other reviews.

  Secondly the price is not saying anything about the total cost .. and the “rental fee” is usually just fragment of the total .. e.g. we booked Ford C-max .. for approx. 44€ and „full protection” for 76€... so we expected 120€ in total... at the front desk we were told that we need additional insurance called “complete protection” (playing with words) and pay more 76€+12€ airport tax.. so in total more than 200€... they blocked even more on the CC saying that another 150€ is fuel deposit

  Goldcar is operating with hidden fees. My contract from cartrawler through Norwegian (third party booking site) delivered a contract for 1 week hire: 152 EUR. Goldcar charged me additional 100 EUR for insurance, even though I clearly stated I didn't want any additional insurance when I picked up the rental car from the airport. Customer services said it was stated in the contract, which I'm sure of. But when you say you don't want any extra insurance you shouldn't be charged for it. Think twice before using Goldcar!
